Coil Count: Inside traditional mattresses, coils provide support. Some manufacturers will have you believe that more coils are better. Fireblocker: Historically, mattresses have been susceptible to fire. Now, California requires all mattresses to be open-flame resistant, a law known as Technical Bulletin 603.
