Maintenance & Care

Mattresses, like any other item, do require a modicum of maintenance and care.  In addition, Ortho recommends the following in order to maximize the lifespan of your mattress and to ensure that warranty guidelines are maintained.

-Keep your mattress clean.  We suggest using a mattress pad or mattress protector, preferably one with a 10-year guarantee, to protect your mattress from all forms of moisture.  If a mattress is soiled or stained in anyway, the warranty and comfort exchange policy is voided.  A mattress protector is also the only way to keep a mattress clean.

-It's advisable to rotate your mattress, end to end, frequently in the first 3 months of use in order to equalize the natural body impressions on the mattress surface.

-When buying a new mattress, it is always recommended to buy the set, which includes a box spring or foundation.  Using an old box spring or foundation on a new mattress can affect the support and comfort of the new mattress.

-Do not bend or fold the mattress.  Do not stand the mattress up against a wall or any other support unit.  If a mattress must be stored for any length of time, it's recommended to lay it flat when possible.
